West Virginia authorizes its notaries to perform online notarizations pursuant to W. Va Code §§ 39-4-6 & 39-4-37.

In addition, West Virginia recognizes online notarizations that are properly performed by notaries of other states. The applicable interstate recognition laws are W. Va. Code §§ 39-4-11, 39-1-3, 39-1-10, 57-4-2, & 57-5-9.
